The Mesa Fire and Medical Department (MFMD) serves a population of over half a million residents across 138 square miles. The department uses an all-hazards response model to provide a high level of emergency medical care, fire suppression, rescue, and emergency transportation services. The department’s mission is “To Serve with CARE,” which stands for Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence.

- Emergency medical care, fire suppression, rescue, and emergency transportation services
- Fire prevention programs, including inspection and education
- Community outreach programs and classes, including water safety, youth programs, car seat safety, Lifesaver classes, Home Safety Education (HSE), and Dementia Friends
- Fire volunteer programs, including Connectors, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), and the Business Education Safety Training (BEST) Program.
- Community Rooms: The Mesa Fire & Medical Department provides community rooms free of charge for non-profit community-sponsored programs or groups. These rooms cannot be used for commercial, for-profit, or personal social functions.
